No Yankee joy over the weekend. An ambitious Saturday effort would have trebled money on an each way basis, but Sunday’s JP McManus themed bet was a washout.
Today we have the delights of Southwell, Newcastle and Wolverhampton. It’s a long way, in every regard, from Leopardstown !!
The Daily Yankee:
The Young Master (1445 Newcastle), 2/1: Has been trained as a National horse for a couple of years, but is due a win after a good Aintree run and a decent Kempton 3rd, the handicapper has relented and this looks there for the taking.
Tasaaboq (1645 Wolverhampton), 9/2: With the most experienced jockey up top in an apprentice hands and heels event, it is time for this horse to finally deliver returned to an optimum 7f.
Malaysian Boleh (1715 Wolverhampton), 9/2: A chance for jockey Jack Osborn to double up in the hands and heels races, with this veteran dropping to a low mark, but showing signs of a return to form here last time
Indian Red (1845 Wolverhampton), 4/1: A clear winner over this course and distance in only a 9th outing. A son of Sir Percy, this staying trip could be his making and a 5lb rise looks achievable.
Roll 10 onto:
Ulis de Vassy (1430 Southwell), 13/2: Showed some welcome form last time having dropped to an all time low mark. The useful 7lb claim of Patrick Cowley may be enough to turn that progress into a win.
