The weekend’s Premier League fixtures end tonight with a London derby of sorts, with Chelsea traveling to Vicarage Road to take on Watford.
Defending Premier League champion Chelsea have had a stuttering campaign, and were very disappointing midweek in defeat to Bournemouth. There’s no doubt manager Antonio Conte is under pressure, amid rumours this could be his last game in charge. Has he lost the dressing room, can he motivate a positive performance? We await the response.
The Blues are fortunate that in Watford they face a side that they have a good record against. Chelsea are unbeaten versus the Hornets in 13 games over all competitions, with their last Premier League defeat being in 1999.
New signing Olivier Giroud is likely to make his debut tonight, and this will allow Belgian wizard Eden Hazard to slip back into a more supporting role, where he is probably more effective. With this in mind we’ll take the 4/1 on offer that Hazard is named man of the match.
Recommendation: Hazard to win man of the match, 1 pt, at 4/1, BetFred
