Looks like Southwell is the only guaranteed action. A real course specialist venue, it is the heart of today’s yankee.
The Daily Yankee:
Helen Sherbet (1430 Southwell), 3/1: Made all here in aggressive fashion over this trip two runs ago. Ridden more cautiously over a longer trip last time didn’t suit and she can blast away again back at this trip – a tactic that works often here.
Foolaad (1505 Southwell), 15/8: Has won two on the bounce and is only 3lbs up for a narrow win last time. Technically it should be close with Classic Pursuit, but so often form gets confirmed, and Foolaad’s running style clearly suits here.
Jack Blane (1610 Southwell), 6/4: Has run really were here on last two runs and in much the weaker division of this handicap he looks to have little to beat and should justify favouritism.
Star Ascending (1640 Southwell). 4/5: In great form and has won the last twice when ridden by today’s jockey Joe Fanning. This is a weak event and it should be a shoo-in for Fanning.
Great win yesterday for the Gamechanger pick at a best priced 13/2. We will take a trimmed 6/1 to reflect the widespread odds, and roll 70 onto today’s pick:
Fortinbrass (1535 Southwell), 11/2: Course specialist showed form last time and the 3lb claim of Lewis Edmunds should allow for a reversal with the more fancied pensioner Sir Geoffrey.
