In light of the cold spell, our Yankee sticks exclusively to the all-weather…
The Daily Yankee:
Excellent George (1600 Chelmsford), 5/2: This horse is in flying form and followed a win here with a third in a very strong race at Kempton. Back at this track, this looks easier.
Exchequer (1825 Wolverhampton), 6/1: Has been gradually coming to form for the O’Meara yard and was arguably very unlucky here recently. Despite that run and two good runs elsewhere he stays on same mark and can make amends now back at Wolves.
Sir Lancelott (1855 Wolverhampton), 3/1: Won here just two days ago in a hands and heels apprentice event. He gets no penalty, but jockey that day Ben Sanderson gets to claim his 7lbs this time, so in effect running off half a stone less than that winning rating.
Maratha (1955 Wolverhampton), 9/4: Another in cracking form. Won here two runs ago off 78, and was a good second, miles clear of the rest off this mark of 85 last time. This doesn’t look a strong event and recent form should dominate.
The Gamechanger: (keep rolling til we hit 10K)
Out of luck yesterday when rolling 70, so its back to square one and 10 on:
Stopdworldnletmeof (1425 Chelmsford), 6/1: The return of Jamie Spencer to the saddle is definitely the jockey highlight of the day. His quiet style and soft hands can work the oracle on a horse who has failed to settle for less experienced riders.
