Thursday Yankee Plus: Fab Four to please, please us…

Hopefully the weathermen are right and we get a full card for what is a useful day’s racing featuring two courses we like in Doncaster and Huntingdon, and throws up a yankee we really like the look of…

The Daily Yankee:

Red Indian (1455 Towcester), 2/1:  Was a cracking third in the Lanzarote last time and that form is already getting a huge boost.  Just 3lbs higher here and with the jockey claiming 7lbs, the red hot form of the Pauling stable just adds to the appeal.

Gunfleet (1530 Doncaster), 11/4:  This novice steps into handicap company off a rating of 130.  That may look high, but his cosy Southwell win last time came at the expense of a horse short-headed at Grade 2 level next time, and on breeding this trip and ground should only bring out more improvement.  Looks thrown in.

Hoke Colburn (1555 Huntingdon), 6/1:  Trainer Harry Whittington worked the oracle with a wind op when this fella won at Southwell last time.  He has always been spoken of at home as an out and out stayer, and this further step up in trip can demonstrate that.

Beloved Knight (1830 Chelmsford), 7/2:  Ran a cracker here over a mile on handicap debut, and by stout sire Sir Percy, should really appreciate the step up in trip.  Top dirt jockey Kirby takes the ride and this one looks a good bet

The Gamechanger:

Rolling 10 onto:

Washed Ashore (1355 Doncaster), 10/1:  Jonjo O’Neill used to have favourite Powerful Symbol in his yard.  He has now switched to the red hot Ben Pauling, but Jonjo may have the last laugh as the useful Washed Ashore has been held back for this better ground.
