Yet another single winner outcome yesterday, with the 9/2 success of Mister Music left stranded by the disappointment of others. Let’s break that run today:
The Daily Yankee:
Misfits, (1400 Musselburgh), 9/4: Stayed on well to beat today’s rival So Satisfied here last time. 4lbs worse off but 3 of those reclaimed by the useful Blair Campbell, and with the Lucinda Russell team landing 4 winners in the last 2 weeks, he can build on that first chase success.
Canny Style, (1600 Musselburgh), 11/8: Experienced flat horse has made a surprisingly good switch to hurdles including a smooth win here in a maiden. A soft ground Sedgefield slog was not ideal last time, but his close third to a subsequent winner was still very strong form. Top northern jockey Brian Hughes does the steering.
Café Au Lait, (1410 Towcester), 9/4: Let us down over course and distance recently when idling on the hill and throwing away a clear cut win. Goodnight Charlie ran well in the same race after a break but may still need one more run and drying ground to give of his best, and there is still a window of opportunity for Café Au Lait to finally deliver.
Spirit of Hale, (1610 Towcester), 3/1: Just 12 runs, and only 3 over fences, but hinted at promise when running well at Bangor two runs ago, and form of close 3rd at Catterick last time working out well. Drop in trip on this stiff course should be ideal, and doesn’t have a lot to beat.
