FA Cup: Em Ploy Shrewd Tactic…

It’s the fifth round of the FA Cup this weekend, starting tonight.

We were going to leave this alone given the difficulties surrounding picking starting lineups as teams rest players, but an opportunity presented itself in tonight’s Chelsea/Hull clash that we thought we should pass on.

Chelsea have fixtures against Barcelona, Manchester United and Manchester City on the horizon, and thus manager Antonio Conte is very likely to rotate his squad. Star players like Eden Hazard and Marcus Alonso are likely to miss out, opening up the possibility of fresh faces being introduced.

One such face is likely to be rampaging wingback Emerson Palmieri. The Blues signed Palmieri from Roma last month in a deal worth £26 million, but he has yet to feature. In a side desperately in need of a lift, the Brazilian-born Italian is an attractive 16/1 to win the man of the match accolade on his debut.

Recommendation: Palmieri to win man of the match, 1 pt, at 16/1, Paddy Power
