Sunday Yankee: 16/1 shocker can boost returns…

The Daily Yankee:

De Benno (1455 Navan), 5/2:  At pensionable age but showed great enthusiasm at Leopardstown last time and the vagaries of the Irish handicapping system allows him to run off a 29lb lower mark for switching from chases to hurdles.  Favourite Wings Like Arion scraped home last time and is 7lbs higher, whilst Grand Partner’s good Leopardstown run sees him revert to a mark that has proven too much in the past.

Bertimont (1515 Market Rasen), 16/1:  Stable has red hot favourite in this hot looking race and it is definitely a punt taking that one on with the stable’s outsider of three runners.  However, Berti was a 16l 7th in Faugheen’s Champion Hurdle, and whilst on the slide since, his runs last Spring looked good until fading late.  A recent wind op may make the difference and he could spring a surprise on seasonal debut.

Monbeg Notorious (1600 Navan), 6/4:  Was an easy winner of the Thyestes which saw his rating rise 13lbs to 150.  Gets in here with no penalty making him officially at least 4lbs well in but with potential to add given the fluency of that last win.  Heavy ground ideal.

All For Joy (1700 Navan), 4/1:  Favourite Cemister doesn’t look like a Mullins special on paper, and next best Master of Tara was a flop on rules debut.  This could be between the experienced pair of All For Joy and Calicojack.  All For Joy has looked a tough nut in two good seconds at Thurles and may be able to guts this one out best.
