Monday Nap: Swing when you’re winning..

Nap Monbeg Notorious got us back on winning ways yesterday at Navan with a dour winning effort that should set him up for an Irish National tilt.

To follow up we are trusting one of our favourite combinations in trainer Sue Smith and jockey Danny Cook.

They team up with a previous losing nap of ours Swing Hard.  This out-and-out front runner was never quite dominating around Musselburgh that last time, even then his third has still worked out ok.

Carlisle is a idiosyncratic track and one which Swing Hard seems to enjoy at this trip and on this ground, having registered two previous wins.  Crucially there does not look to be any pace threats, and Danny may be able to set his own tempo up front.

When front-runners get loose running back towards the straight here they can be very hard to overhaul and we expect Cook to set sail some way from home and play the catch-me-if-you-can tactic.  We don’t think they will.

Recommendation:  Swing Hard, (1500 Carlisle), 1pt win, 4/1 generally available
