The Navan stewards weren’t generous enough to give us a third winner on the yankee yesterday, but at least two was a step in the right direction. Jockey Adam Kirby holds the key to running up winnings today:
The Daily Yankee:
Swing Hard, (1500 Carlisle), 4/1: A course specialist on a track that plays to idiosyncracies. He has won 2 from 3 over this trip here and both times on today’s going. Was never quite dominating last time, but looks the only pace-setter here and will be hard to pass under a strong Danny Cook.
Bako De La Saulaie, (1640 Carlisle), 10/3: Was heart-breakingly touched off in a driving Doncaster finish after we tipped him a few weeks back. Has been raised 6lbs but he is totally unexposed over fences and can take that uplift in his stride and compensate for that previous defeat.
Paparazzi, (1920 Kempton), 2/1: Makes the huge journey over from Joseph O’Brien’s yard having been unfortunate not to make a similar Lingfield trip pay last time. This is a fairer track, and King of Kempton Adam Kirby will be keen to make amends after failing to get him home last time.
Western Way, (2020 Kempton), 7/4: Did us a favour in our inaugural yankee when storming from last to first here. Jockey Kirby also rode main danger Ardamir last time, but he liked what he saw with Western Way and keeps the ride for tonight.
