There’s one more Premier League game this week before Saturday’s fresh round of fixtures (weather permitting), and it’s a repeat of Sunday’s Carabao Cup final with Arsenal hosting Manchester City.
The Gunners may have received something of a chasing on the weekend but they do have a good record at the Emirates. City have only won one of their last 32 top-flight away fixtures against Arsenal.
But this is a different City side than those that have visited in the past. They have lost just one of their last 35 league games, winning 29.
Much will depend on which Arsenal side shows up tonight. Are they feeling sorry for themselves or are they prepared to fight for their reputations and the future of their manager?
We think Arsenal will show more fight, they are playing at home after all, while City could rest players after the excitement of Wembley and ahead of a tough game against Chelsea on Sunday.
We’re tempted with the 7/2 available for a home win–it’s not very often you see these odds for Arsenal to win at home–but we’re still reticent about trusting the Gunners. Instead we’ll take a punt that the City defence is not completely focused, allowing aggressive defender Shkodran Mustafi to score.
Recommendation: Mustafi to score at anytime, 1 pt, at 14/1, bet365
