There’s a return to Monday night football in the Premier League this evening, as Crystal Palace host Manchester United.
Selhurst Park is often a tough place to visit, but the home team are bedevilled with injuries resulting in a poor run of results. Palace are winless in five Premier League games and now face a side they have not beaten in the Premier League, a total of 17 games.
It’s true Manchester United aren’t on the best of runs themselves–they could lose three consecutive Premier League away games for the first time since January 1996–but this surely is a game they will win.
Without Wilfred Saha–he’s still injured–Palace simply don’t win and very rarely score.
United winning to nil at around 5/4 looks a fairly safe bet, but we’re going to put our faith in Romelu Lukaku.
After starting the season in a blistering fashion, the Belgian striker suffered a thin spell. However, his performance against Chelsea last weekend was impressive and he seems to have regained his confidence, scoring three goals in his last two league matches. We’ll take the 7/1 that Betfair offers that he scores a brace tonight.
Recommendation: Lukaku to score two goals, 1 pt, at 7/1, Betfair
