It’s a return to the Champions League tonight, with the English interest represented by Liverpool‘s clash with Porto.
The Reds hold a commanding 5-0 lead from the first leg in Portugal and are basically already through. It’s difficult to see why Jurgen Klopp would risk his star players tonight, especially given at trip to Old Trafford awaits on Saturday. A draw suits Liverpool just as much as a win, and even a narrow defeat, so we’ll give this game a miss.
Instead we’ll concentrate on the night’s other game, with Real Madrid traveling to Paris to take on PSG.
The French champions have a terrific record at home, being undefeated in all competitions this season. They now have to overturn a 3-1 deficit from the first leg.
They have a chance. A third of teams trying to overcome a 3-1 away defeat in the history of the Champions League have done so. However, they have to cope without their injured Brazilian star Neymar.
Real are having a shocking domestic season. They trail Barcelona by 15 points in La Liga and this tournament represents the only real chance for these superstars to collect meaningful silverware.
With PSG having to attack, the likes of Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema are likely to have space to play on the counter. We’ll take the 3/1 generally available that Real salvage their season with victory tonight.
Recommendation: Real Madrid to win tonight, 1 pt, at 3/1, widely available
