Tuesday Yankee: Let’s get lucky

Only the one meeting to concentrate on today, but Southwell has been kind to us of late, so let’s get stuck into something sandy…

The Daily Yankee:

Something Lucky (1420 Southwell), 13/8:  Already raced 8 times this year, with 3 wins, 4 seconds and a third.  His best form has come at this track, and he has risen just one pound since third just a length behind rival Archimedes, and is now 7lbs better off.  He can enjoy the switch back here and should win.

Ochos Rios (1450 Southwell), 5/1: Returned to flat after nearly two years, and has struggled with starts losing significant ground.  Still managed to win first time against a highly progressive rival, and if he could get off on slightly better terms then he should be very competitive.

Katie Gale (1520 Southwell), 7/2:  We napped Cousin Khee when he won here two days ago, tempting as it is to go back in at 11/10, that looks too short at this reduced trip.  Katie Gale lead the Cousin at this distance last time, and although beaten over 3 lengths in the end, she is now 10lbs better off, and that should be enough to spring the surprise.

Sooqaan (1620 Southwell), 8/1:  Was on a roll when winning three straight races over this course and distance in January.  Has a significant switch in the weights with favourite Mister Music on 7f running here two runs ago,  and with the move back to 1 mile likely to suit Sooqaan more than Mister Music, he starts to look good value.
