Champions League: Juve to silence Wembley

The Champions League continues tonight, with Manchester City and Tottenham keeping the English end up, so to speak!

City hold a 4-0 lead after the away leg, and should have too much for FC Basel in this the second leg. However, like Liverpool last night, we at Lap of the Odds are unwilling to take a punt on a side that can  rest key players and doesn’t need to win to progress. We’ll pass.

The interesting game takes place at Wembley, with Tottenham hosting Juventus after a 2-2 draw in Turin.

Spurs were outstanding in the first leg, coming back from two early blows to tie the game while dominating possession. They have been playing exceedingly well in the Premier League and have won their last seven games at Wembley. With the two away goals, the North London side have to be favourites.

However, we landed a result yesterday by banking on Real Madrid’s experience in Europe (Champions League: Real to stun Paris…) and we look to do so again.

Juventus have reached the final of this competition in two of the last thee tournaments, while Spurs have reached the quarterfinals only once previously. The Italian giants have lost only one of their last seven away games in the knockout stages, while keeping a clean sheet in their last three.

We’re tempted with Paddy Power’s 11/1 that Juventus win 1-0, but we’ll take 5/1 that they do so without conceding a goal.

Recommendation: Juventus to win to nil, 1 pt, at 5/1, Unibet
