PGA Tour: Rock on Tommy…

The PGA Tour stays in Florida this week, with Bay Hill near Orlando hosting the Arnold Palmer International.

In the past this tournament might as well have been a Tiger Woods benefit event. He has won it eight times before ill health stopped him playing, and after his impressive showing in the Valspar Championship last week he is all the rage again.

Now it’s true he played well last week and he does love this course, but we’re not going to take 6/1 on a player yet to prove the return of his winning habit. We may look silly on Sunday, but we’ll look elsewhere.

The defending champion is the Australian Marc Leishman, while his countryman Jason Day won the year before. Both have chances but we’re not sure they are playing well enough at the moment.

Instead we’re going to side with a young Englishman – Tommy Fleetwood. He has been playing superbly this season, continuing the form that saw him win the Race to Dubai last year. This play has pushed his world ranking up to 11th, yet, probably due to the weight of money being placed on Tiger, we can still get 20/1.

We’ll stick with one selection at this stage, but take the generoeight places that SkyBet is offering.

Recommendation: Fleetwood 1pt each way at 20/1, 1/5 the odds for the first eight places, SkyBet
