Navan abandonned – no Daily Yankee today, click here for updated Nap of the day.
Gordon Elliott loves Navan even in the worst of times, well these are undoubtedly the best of times for the Meath maestro and he can bring it to his favourite track.
The Daily Yankee:
Pat’s Oscar, (1420 Navan), 3/1: Normally when a horse takes as long to win as Pat’s Oscar and the gets lumped up 8lbs we’d avoid. But mare’s in form can really improve suddenly, she won easily last time, and of course the stable is flying.
Roaring Bull, (1455 Navan), 4/1: Our Nap of the day was running a big race behind subsequent Cheltenham romper Blow By Blow until a last flight fall. This is a step back in grade and he can get compensation.
Fitzhenry (1635 Navan), 7/2: Tempting to add the potentially much better Sutton Manor to keep up the Gordon link, but his form has taken a blip at just the same time that Fitzhenry has taken a step forward. Won a good handicap last time and now steps up in trip which looked sure to suit as he looked a proper stayer at Naas.
Sunsetstorise, (1705 Navan), 11/8: Back To Gordo for the last pick. This horse has not seen the track for a year since winning here for trainer Francis Flood. Backing horses transferred to Willie or Gordon has been a great system this year as they show their genius by improving them massively, this can be another such example.
