Tuesday Nap: Day dreaming…

The weather still disrupts, but it should present no problem for this evening’ Newcastle card.

Only 12 days ago, VJ Day delivered on early promise by landing a course and distance win off just 72 on only his 5th start on synthetics

He should have room for huge improvement, but the quality of that last win was such that the 6lb weight rise is unlikely to act as any impediment even if he simply repeats his effort.

The horse he beat last time has run a good second again since, and jockey Andrew Mullin is a trustworthy ally.

The opposition does not look too challenging with Richard Fahey’s Bengali Boys looking the only danger on form.

Recommendation: VJ Day, (1840 Newcastle), 1pt win, 9/4 generally available
