Champions League: The Cris and Robbie show…

The Champions League returns tonight, with a couple of mouth-watering quarterfinals.

Pride of place is Real Madrid‘s trip to Turin to take on Juventus. The Spanish giants are the current holders of this prestigious trophy, and this clash is a repeat of the final.

Juventus have a proud home record in this tournament. They are on a current 27-match unbeaten run, but showed signs of vulnerability against Tottenham last round.

Real are out of the league race in Spain and thus are putting all of their efforts into this competition.

Star striker Cristiano Ronaldo was rested for Saturday’s league game and will return. He has scored in all five of his games against Juventus in the Champions League, netting seven in total, and is odds against to score tonight. We think that represents value.

The second game sees Bayern Munich travel to Spain to take on Sevilla. This is the first meeting of the two clubs in European competition, and the gulf in experience at this level is stark. Sevilla are looking to reach the semifinals for the first time while Bayern have won this tournament on five occasions.

We think the German champions, who looked so impressive in dismantling Borussia Dortmund 6-0 on the weekend, will have too much for the home side and will look to put the tie to bed tonight.

Star striker Robert Lewandowski has scored 22 goals in 26 Champions League appearances since the start of 2015-16, and we look for him to do so again.

Recommendation: Ronaldo to score for Real Madrid and Lewandowski to score for Bayern Munich as a double, 1 pt, at approximately 3/1, Paddy Power
