The US Masters is unique among the golfing majors, it’s the only one which is played at the same course every year, at the Augusta National.
This means many of the holes have become very familiar to players and viewers alike. One of these iconic holes is the 13th, a classic risk/reward par 5, measured at 510 yards and named Azalea.
Paddy Power offers a bet on the likelihood of an individual beating par on this hole on all four rounds.
The player we are interested in as far as this bet is concerned is Bubba Watson. The left-hander hits the ball a mile and will be able to fade the drive around the corner to set up a shortish iron for his approach.
Taking a more analytical approach, Bubba has played the hole 22 times from 2012 onwards, beating par on 15 occasions. This would suggest a 4/1 shot that he does so on all four rounds – yet Paddy Power offers 13/2. He has also achieved this feat before, in 2015, while shooting three birdies out of four on three other occasions.
He’s also playing well at the moment, winning the World Match Play a couple of weeks ago. We think the 13/2 price offers value.
Recommendation: Watson to beat par on 13th on all four occasions, 1 pt, at 13/2, Paddy Power
