Quagmire racing in store today. It could be truly gruelling stuff on two stamina sapping tracks at Carlisle and Exeter.

The Bay Birch is an in form mare who was faced with terrible conditions last week at Towcester. She absolutely careered away with it that day, sluicing through the mud for a wide margin win.
Now that has not escaped the attentions of the handicapper who has landed her with a whopping 15lb rise. That said, an in form mare is often capable of rapid improvement.
More improvement looks likely, but it may also not be necessary as few horses handle these conditions well, we know she does, and that alone justifies her favourite’s odds.
