Conditions remain atrocious over jumps and we’re sticking to proven recent mudlark form…
The Daily Yankee:
The Bay Birch, (1510 Exeter), 2/1: an in form mare who had two good Towcester wins recently. The last one was on awful ground and she won by a mile. She is a massive 15lbs higher in the weights for that, but that may matter little in these conditions and she can follow up.
Alberto’s Dream (1540 Exeter), 11/8: has won four straight since joining this yard, and is another the handicapper is trying to catch up with. He has another 8lbs today but that would not have stopped him last time at Warwick and he should complete the 5-timer.
De Bene Essay, (1610 Exeter), 10/3: Another with a recent run in the CV, storming home on Ffos Las heavy, which is as tough as it gets. 7lbs higher but again the recent form and going preference is persuasive.
Colt Lightning, (1640 Exeter), 2/1: This one is looking for a hat-trick after two good wins at Hereford. Has taken a big hike in the weights for his last win, but he was miles clear with the runner-up that day, and that one has won again since.
