A big week ahead and a chance to boost the coffers in expectation.
The Daily Yankee:
Daytime Ahead (1515 Wincanton), 4/1: we always like to back a mare in for and Daytime Ahead is just such a horse having run away with a decent looking event here last time. She is 10lbs up against better horses, but that can mean little when a mare hits her stride.
Mick Thonic (1555 Ludlow), 8/1: This horse has had a very troubled campaign. It looked promising when he was giving the very well treated Bigmartre a run here in October, but jumping issues and broken blood vessels saw everything put on hold soon after until a reappearance in a soft ground Hereford race a few weeks ago. Back on a better surface and at this track he can continue the Tizzard stable upsurge.
Black Narcissus (1655 Wincanton), 5/2: Another in form mare, she left her poor recent form behind when winning a little event at Sedgefield last week. The front two were clear, and the runner up looks decent. It could be a flash in the pan, but we’ll stick to the improving mare theory.
Breaking Ground, (1750 Kempton), 6/1: Looked likely to win at Hereford last time until floundering late on in the mud. Somewhat drier conditions at Kempton look certain to suit, and he can deliver on the promise of that effort.
