It’s time to start looking more seriously at the European Tour as the winter cobwebs are shaken off. It’s to Morocco that the golfers head this week, for the Trophee Hassan II.
This tournament is played on a course where pars mean you tend to go forward and accurate play is rewarded.
The favourite is Irishman Paul Dunne. He lost in a playoff here a year ago so obviously likes the course. He has since won the British Masters, has been playing well on the PGA Tour and finished second last week in Spain. He is one of the highest ranked players in the field, and although the 12/1 price may seem a little tight we think he deserves the favourite tag.
Our second selection is a young Englishman who won his first European Tour title in Qatar in February, Eddie Pepperell. Thus confidence will not be an issue.
Although he missed the cut last week that followed a break and he quickly worked the rust out of his game with a 65 in the second round. At 50/1, we’ll take a punt.
Dunne to win, 1 pt, at 12/1, widely available
Pepperell 0.5 pts each way at 50/1, 1/5 the odds for first six places, Unibet
