The enticing mix of Newmarket and Cheltenham continues and fuels today’s Yankee…
The Daily Yankee:
Dragons Tail, (1350 Newmarket), 15/2: Plenty of these have bags of promise, notably Music Soceity and Consequences, but this early in the season it can be worth siding with experience. Dragons Tail has been there and done it at good level through his 2yo career. He looks fairly weighted and his stable could hardly be in better form.
Le Brivido, (1500 Newmarket), 11/4: Lightly raced French challenger who followed a runner up effort in the French 2000 guineas with a last gasp win in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot. Not seen since and this is a clear drop back in trip, but trainer Andre Fabre has plenty of races in the French race programme to aim at, so it seems significant he makes the trip over for this event.
Oscar Rose, (1515 Cheltenham), 11/1: Ok so we’ve been down the road with this mare a few times. Last time she made a strong move from the rear in a very valuable Newbury handicap before fading late in the mud. She still looks well handicapped and the better ground here should help her on breeding, worth one more go.
Definitelyanoscar (1735 Cheltenham), 4:1: A very strong mares bumper and the Harry Fry trained Definitelyanoscar must have a chance of defying a penalty. She won her debut in taking style and the better ground should well suit. Expensive purchase Lust For Glory could be the biggest danger.
