Sunday Nap: Well Jel…

We’re glad to see the back of Ayr where our luck was never more amply illustrated than watching Friday’s hampered Nap Theinval turn out 24 hrs later unselected and storm home for the win.

Today’s Sunday fare is a hellishly difficult Naas flat card and some jumping on quickening ground.

Wincanton should become a proper speed test now the sun has been shining.

They host one of the rare military races constricted to riders who currently serve in the military.  We like these races as there can be a massive range of riding ability and that means opportunity.

Paul Nicholls has become adept at targeting these unusual races, and regularly teams up with Jody Sole, winning 5 such races together.

Here they team up with Volpone Jelois.  This horse has been waiting for better ground, but in the meantime has been running well on the all weather flat tracks.

That speed will be a huge asset here, as is the rider, and with this race at one of the stable’s favourite tracks you can be sure this has been the target for some time.

Probably deserves to be under 2/1, but we can get a nice premium on that.

Recommendation: Volpone Jelois, (1550 Wincanton), 1pt win, 7/2 generally available
