The The Daily Yankee:
Little Miss Poet, (1450 Wincanton), 5/1: Ran well in a novice hurdle campaign last season winning at this time of the year on good ground. Ran a cracker when 5th at Ascot on reappearance and then missed the muddy mid-winter. She returned on heavy ground at Taunton last month for a decent fourth. She should be spot in now and finally gets the good ground she needs.
Volpone Jelois, (1550 Wincanton), 7/2: this race is restricted to military riders, which usually means a broad dispersion of riding talents. Jody Sole is often entrusted with Paul Nicholls trained runners and has won 5 of these races for him. They team up here with form horse Volpone Jelois for whom this drying ground should be an ideal chance to display his flat speed.
Guerilla Tactics, (1655 Wincanton), 11/4: Was in form on good ground in the Autumn rounding off with a cosy win here in good ground off a mark of 97. Missed most of the mud and reappeared two weeks ago when the ground was probably too soft but still ran well until a late fall. That should have him fully fit and a mark of 102 looks very competitive back on his favoured going.
Minella Whisper, (1510 Stratford), 9/2: Left his novice form behind when switched to long distances and handicaps. A good handicap debut 3rd was followed by a tidy win at Huntingdon. Up 6lbs for that but looked to have that in hand, still has scope to improve, and looks likely to enjoy conditions more than most of his rivals.
