Champions League: Milner spot on…

It’s the semifinal stage of Europe’s premier club competition, and where better to start than Anfield and a repeat of the 1984 final – Liverpool versus Roma.

Both teams will be flying high after seeing off more highly regarded teams in the quarterfinals, Liverpool beating Premier League champions Manchester City and Roma stunning Spanish giants Barcelona.

Liverpool will be hoping the wall of noise that unnerved City at Anfield in the last round can be repeated tonight, as they attempt to build up an advantage.

While a lot of the attention in the run up to this game has been on Mo Salah, Liverpool’s scoring sensation who played for Roma last year, it was the Reds’ midfield trio that so impressed last round, covering miles in both defence and attack.

We look for this workrate to continue tonight, and will take a punt that occasional penalty taker James Milner gets on the scoresheet.

Recommendation: Milner to score at any time, 1 pt, at 7/1, Paddy Power
