The PGA Tour heads to the TPC Louisiana for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, a relatively new tournament which is based on the pairs format.
Team chemistry (never having to say you’re sorry!) is probably the key ingredient to a successful week – the defending champions are Sweden’s Jonas Blixt and Australian Cameron Smith, good friends who live near each other in Florida. They beat Kevin Kisner and Scott Brown in a playoff, long time friends from South Carolina.
With this in mind we’re going to pick the partnership of Justin Thomas and Bud Cauley. Both played golf at the University of Alabama and have become firm mates, sharing a flat. This pair finished fifth last year, when we also picked them, and we expect a solid showing again this year.
Recommendation: Thomas/Cauley to win, 1 pt, at 11/1, widely available
