The Daily Yankee:
Hajjam, (1625 Wetherby), 11/4: Goes well on soft and represents a stable who have started the season in characteristically flying form. Won first time out last year and ended with a fine 2nd of 20 at Doncaster. Entitled to improve again now at 4 years old.
Highland Bobby, (1655 Wetherby), 6/1: Another representative of the buzzing O’Meara yard. Those ahead of him in the market have proven fitness but also proven weakness on the ground. He hasn’t met it yet but should like it on breeding. That same breeding suggests he should be a big improver on his 2yo form, and the stable is showing that seasonal debut is no hindrance.
Mitchum, (1730 Wetherby), 7/1: Favourite Dapper Man won in the week and would usually be out first port of call but the 6lb penalty gives him a near lifetime high mark to defy. We prefer the lifetime low mark for Mitchum. His last 3 runs on soft or worse at 5f produced form of 112. That was during a prolific run at this time 2 years ago that finished on a rating of 71. Now all the way back at 46 with conditions finally to suit again.
Coral Caye, (1800 Wetherby), 12/1: Hot favourite Hadley has just one win to his name but has been placed in 15 of his other 23 runs suggesting he can be hard to win with making his price very short. We’re prepared to risk outsider Coral Caye who ran her best runs on soft at the end of her 3yo season, can improve now 4, and ran ok when 8th of 18 on seasonal debut and can be spot on for that run.
