The Daily Yankee:
NAP OF THE DAY: Highland Bobby, (1800 Beverley), 1pt win, 4/1 Bet365, BetVictor
Won really well first time out when we tipped him at Wetherby. Better opponents, a switch back to 7f and quickening ground are all factors helping inflate the odds today. But he can be ridden aggressively here and that can suit well on this track and make life very difficult for the inexperienced riders looking to chase him down.
Mooroverthebridge, (1450 Bath), 7/2: a lightly raced filly with the scope to improve. Ran unexpectedly well at Windsor last time and could be starting the upward curve as a 4yo. This race is weak and any improvement from that seasonal debut should see her home here.
Secret Asset (1525 Bath), 13/2: As a 13yo, tipping Secret Asset is very much a Help The Aged ploy. That is well past retirement age, once rated over 100, he was still rated 65 when running well this time last year. A further slide has seen him down to today’s 47. That may support the retirement angle, but he showed enough last time from way out to of the weights to suggest a last hurrah may be soon enough.
Make on Madam, (1540 Beverley), 7/1: This mare adores Beverley with her last three wins coming here. In fairness she runs here frequently and it has been when dropped to the low 60s that she has made her handicap mark. Today’s 63 looks manageable, and although in poor form of late, we can be sure this return to Beverley will have been top priority.
