Thursday Yankee: Can Can to dance in…

A winning nap (Eeh Bah Gum 7/2) and a near miss on yesterday’s yankee, leaves us ready to wrap up one of our best racing months with one last crack at a Yankee full house….

The Daily Yankee:

NAP OF THE DAY:  If We Can Can, (1700 Hamilton), 1pt win, 11/4 generally available

Penalised 6lbs for a gutsy Redcar win last time.  Strictly that leaves him something to find with runner-up Troop, but this track suits pace-setters and these Mark Johnston horses can be both rapidly progressive and very hard to pass given the lead.

Stormingin, (1540 Lingfield), 11/4:  on a run of second places, is due a win, and his run last time at Sandown was easily the best of that sequence.  Has form on soft ground at Doncaster so shouldn’t be put off by recent rain.  Looks the best of these.

Poyle Vinnie, (1840 Chelmsford), 2/1:  has been in gradually improving form all Spring with a cracking effort in a good race at York last time.  Was an earlier strong second over this course and distance – a reproduction of that ought to be enough but his York form suggests he has improved again since.  Looks very solid.

Vale Of Kent, (1920 Chelmsford), 7/2:  ran a blinder as recently as Saturday in a strong race at Goodwood when kicking clear only to be run down late by a couple of very strong horses.  This looks a strong race too, but with the prime opponents all liking to force the pace, he has a chance to sit in the pocket and time his kick to better effect.
