Tuesday Yankee: Champ no chump…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: Champarisi, (1745 Thirsk), 1pt win, 5/1 generally available

This filly drops in class after a fair staying on 4th in a good event at York last time.  That was a much stronger race than this, and with Hanagan in the saddle she looks primed to deliver on the promise of a fair 2yo campaign

Ravenswood, (1445 Thirsk), 9/2:  was runner up when tipped here at Newcastle last time.  Looked a little unbalanced there and took a while to find his stride getting caught for first run before staying on.  Tries blinkers here and it could be a gamechanger if it sharpens him up and keeps him focussed.  Paul Hanagan can work the magic.

Straightothepoint, (1515 Thirsk), 6/1:  has been in decent form ridden near the front the last twice.  Those tactics work well here and a good high draw should be favourable.  The favourites look stranded in the middle of the course and jockey Graham Lee can take advantage by making all.

Madrinho, (1730 Salisbury), 4/1:  can be a risk backingbin this hands and heels races, but this looks to lie between the previous winner of such a race, Coverham, and the often tenderly ridden Madrinho.  The latter gets Poppy Bridgewater in the saddle again after a fine third in a race at Haydock that is already working out well, and can land this for the in form yard of Tony Carroll.
