The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Star Cracker, (1505 Ayr), 2/1: has been knocking on the door with this sharp track an ideal test. Was second here two runs back and well fancied last time when taking the unusual far rail route. That didn’t work out for jockey Danny Tudhope and he gets to press the reset button and try again here in a race that looks a simple task.
Florencio, (1610 Ayr), 6/1: the two market leaders here were unlucky last time and are trading in the “what might have beens”. Alemaratalyoum was far from a likely winner when hampered whilst Our Charlie Brown probably should have won but that was his beloved Catterick and this may not be as ideal. Florencio represents an in form yard and was well clear if the rest when just outlasted over a longer trip last time. He can make amends here.
Harvest Day, (1625 Carlisle), 9/2: won nicely on the all weather earlier this year and ran a race full of promise when 4th in a Beverley handicap that is working out very well. A subsequent soft ground effort may be best ignored although still form at a level good enough to win here.
Ad Libitum, (1700 Carlisle), 2/1: Another from the in form Roger Fell stable. Was slightly unlucky in running at Ripon when second, and was runner up again at Haydock against a useful Stoute horse. This looks winnable with the slightly longer trip looking likely to suit.
