World Cup: Poland and Russia to win

The World Cup continues today, with s mixture of first and second round group games.

Poland make their entrance into the tournament with a game against Senegal.

The Poles sauntered through their qualifying group, heading Denmark, with Robert Lewandowski scoring for fun. This will be Senegal’s second trip to the finals—who can forget their debut, beating the then World Champions France in 2002-–and in Sadio Mane they have one of the stars of the last Champions League campaign.

We think these two teams will score goals, but we take Poland to win a shootout.

The evening game sees the hosts Russis trying to maintain the momentum caused by their opening 5-0 win.

Egypt are likely to be more tricky opponents than Saudi Arabia, particularly if Mo Salah plays, but the impetus is with the host nation. We expect them to win.

Aleksandr Golovin shone in Russia’s opening win, and we’ll take the 4/1 on offer that he nets again today.

Recommendations:

Poland/Senegal: Poland to win with both teams scoring, 1 pt, at 5/1, bet365

Russia/Egypt: Golovin to score at anytime, 1 pt, at 4/1, Paddy Power and
