Three more games in the World Cup today, starting with Denmark’s clash with Australia.
The Danes started with a hard-fought victory over Peru and will be favourites to win this game. However, we were impressed with the Aussies in defeat to France.
We think they will give the Danes a tough game, and with penalties now a regular feature in the tournament (unless you are wearing an England shirt, of course…) we’ll take a punt on Aussie penalty king Mile Jedinak scoring at anytime.
It’s France versus Peru next.
The French struggled to an unconvincing 2-1 win over Australia in their first game, but we think they will come on a bundle for the run out. We expect them to have too much attacking quality for a Peru side which offered very little in defeat to Denmark.
We were keen on Kylian Mbappe before the tournament started, but it was Antoine Griezmann who offered the most up front in France’s first match. He looks good value to score anytime again today.
The third game is potentially one of the games of the round – Argentina versus Croatia.
The South American giants need to win as they were held 1-1 by Iceland in their first game while Croatia sauntered to an easy win over Nigeria.
We’re not sure they will find it easy, but there’s no denying their attacking talent. Amid all the fuss surrounding Lionel Messi and his missed penalty in the Iceland game, Sergio Aguero’s class finish was a little overlooked. We look for Aguero to score again and will double that with Griezmann doing the same for France.
Denmark/Australia: Jedinak to score anytime, 1 pt, at 13/2, bet365
France/Peru: Griezmann to score anytime and Argentina/Croatia: Aguero to score anytime as a double, 1 pt, at approximately 6.2/1, bet365
