The Daily Yankee:
NAP OF THE DAY: Dr Richard Kimble, (1500 Pontefract), 1pt win, 2/1 generally available
Looks a typically busy but progressive Mark Johnston 3yo. This is the time of the season for following just such a horse, and with wins over 12f, he should find this stiff 10f to his liking.
Becky The Thatcher, (1600 Pontefract), 2/1: Micky Hammonds teak tough mare has advanced from a runner up effort here off 51 to two subsequent wins off 54 and 62. Now off 66 she will need to deliver a lifetime best, but her love of a marathon effort at the track can see her home again.
Crotchet, (1630 Pontefract), 2/1: favourite Excellent Times is a rock solid performer who is sure to go well. But race tactics could favour Crotchet. She is drawn in stall 2 and may choose to set the running in this small field, which may give Paul Hanagan a chance to pinchbyhis from the pace.
Araqeel, (1700 Pontefract), 13/2: looks to be running into form for a stable just hitting its stride. Was a fair 4th last time when only just behind favourite here Round The Island. Has the scope to improve the more of that pair, and jockey Graham Lee retains the ride.
