A good win for our nap yesterday (Humbert tipped at 5/1), and 2 wins and 2 runners-up in a slightly unlucky Yankee. We are due….
The Daily Yankee:
NAP OF THE DAY: Nuns Walk, (1820 Newcastle), 1pt win, 9/2 generally available
Tim Easterby’s mare has been consistent with three seconds in a row. She has been arguably very unlucky, and with excellent form on this surface she looks set to right a few wrongs here.
Rey Loopy, (1855 Newcastle), 5/1: This guy has shown excellent form at this track and was particularly impressive in victory here last time at the course. It’s easy to forgive a defeat on soft turf at Pontefract, and he looks set to continue his excellent form here.
Atletico, (1930 Newcastle), 11/2: has crept up the weights for a series of narrow all weather defeats, but looks one of the few here likely to enjoy both surface and distance. Main danger Eastern Impact should go on the surface, but it’s 34 runs since his 2yo day’s without ever dipping as short as this 5f. Atletico looks the solid pick.
Oriental Lilly, (2110 Newcastle), 3/1: has the golden combo of a recent win and a back catalogue of three course wins. She was very good at Ayr last time and sneaks on here just 3lbs higher. A repeat effort looks likely to reap the same rewards.
