A Chepstow romp for yesterday’s nap Harry Beau (tipped at 3/1) means 5 wins in the last 6 for our naps. It also left us with 3 wins and a second on our Yankee, delivering six times stakes. Let’s try and keep it up…
The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Quayside, (1520 Thirsk), 1pt win, 10/3 generally available
The only 3yo in the race, Richard Fahey’s in form gelding gets a 5lb weight allowance against some exposed older types. He was probably unfortunate to meet the flying Eeh Bah Gum last time. There’s nothing that progressive here and with Hanagan doing the steering he looks a sound bet.
Warrior’s Valley, (1400 Musselburgh), 3/1: twice made all to win all weather races this Spring. Hasn’t been as effective on turf, but gets ideal conditions today. He’s drawn on the favoured rail at a track that suits front runners and against a field of dubious sorts.
Munfallet, (1650 Thirsk), 5/1; David Brown’s sprinter has been the best part of two years outside the winner’s enclosure. However he has shown two glimpses of recent form when dropped to class 5 races for the first time in 4 years. The handicapper has continued to be generous and now he qualifies to race at class 6 level for the first time. The drop in class might be all he needs to re-ignite.
Madrinho, (1750 Kempton), 3/1: won nicely for us two runs ago at Salisbury under this pilot. Came close to following up when narrowly beaten at Thirsk, and now reverts to the all weather with a big chance of regaining the winning thread.
