The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Kinloch Pride, (1630 Catterick), 1pt win, 10/1 Paddy Power
This mare looks significantly over-priced. She has won her last two runs at this track, and has been running into form after three runs this season. She is 11lbs better off with favourite Alsvinder despite beating him by a head just four weeks ago. She was very unlucky not to beat second favourite Landing Light last time and reopposes on matching terms. Should be nearer half the price.
India, (1500 Catterick), 3/1: the two 3yos look likely to dominate this fillies handicap. Claramara is turned out quickly after being runner up on Monday, but it’s the long distance raider from Newmarket, India, who looks to have disclosed less to the handicapper. As a daughter of Poet’s Voice she will relish the unseasonal bit of cut in the ground.
Short Work, (1530 Catterick), 7/2: stablemate Consequences heads the market having left behind some abject early season form. That turn around has coincided with waiting tactics, a tricky game here. Short Work however has winning form here last year on this ground off a lower mark, and returned to form last time out. He can overturn the market.
Wotabreeze, (1700 Catterick), 2/1: looked back to nearly his best when travelling like the winner for a long way when runner up at Epsom last time. Has two previous course wins here and looks well weighted to win again if building on that last effort. His useful amateur jockey should enjoy an armchair ride.
