The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Musharrif, (1900 Beverley), 1pt win, 10/3 generally available
Last year’s winner of this race has been steadily running into form and probably should have won here last time. He’s 6lbs lower than when successful last year, is nicely drawn and has an experienced Beverley pilot on board.
Robben Rainbow, (1505 Ayr), 5/1: broke a losing run when getting up on the line in a fast run race at Catterick last time. Only 2lbs higher for that, and with some confirmed front runners here he could get the race run to suit that late closing style once again.
Glasses Up, (1640 Ayr), 5/2: a very lightly raced 3yo who has already registered two wins here in four lifetime starts. Is only 4lbs up for a smooth handicap success last time. The strong opposition helps prop up a fair price, but he is much the most open to progression and should be close to odds-on.
Rebel State, (2030 Beverley), 6/1: has been very consistent of late and may have been unlucky behind our earlier Ayr fancy Robben Rainbow at Catterick. Again a bit unlucky last time over a longer trip, this stiff 7f could suit his run style.
