Wednesday Yankee: Bet to Excess….

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Excessable, (1610 Catterick), 1pt win, 9/2 generally available

A race sure to be run at some clip with trail blazers Bosham, Dapper Man and Merry Banter all in opposition.  That could set it up for a closer and Excessable was winning at York off 87 this time last year, and ran well at that track off 83 two runs ago.  Now down to 78 he has a clear chance at the weights and with the tactics.

Vixen, (1350 Lingfield), 9/4:  it often pays to follow a filly in form and Vixen is just 5lbs higher than her Kempton win last time.  That was a remarkable effort as she lost ground rearing in the stalls.  She bolted to the start on her run before, so she is not without risk, but she’s not without talent either.

Sky Marshall, (1450 Lingfield), 5/1:  was in flying form here in the Spring earning a giant hike up the ratings after some smooth course wins.  Ran well back on turf before finding the race run at an unsuitable slow pace last time.  Back here, he can improve to win again, and may have too much for the unexposed 3yos heading the market.

Zihaam, (1745 Catterick), 3/1:  has been in good form for the flying Fell stable this Summer.  Won well at Carlisle and Beverley, but we’ll beaten when stepped up to york the after each of those wins.  Catterick is a step back down in class and he benefits from the best apprentice rider in this race.  Should go very well again.
