Friday Yankee: Who’s a pretty Poly?

The Daily Yankee:

NAP OF THE DAY:  Polybius, (1645 Ascot), 2pts win, 7/2 generally available

We have a well trodden soft spot for sprinter Tarboosh, so it needs a significant fancy to tip against him.  That comes today in the shape of massive eyecatcher Polybius.  He was well backed for a valuable handicap here last time and ran a blinder when just failing to catch the leader on his side of the course, albeit only sixth overall.  He looks a big fancy today with a handy middle draw and the excellent James Doyle on top.

Boundary Lane, (1655 Thirsk), 4/1:  made her handicap debut last weekend at Haydock and narrowly lost out in a ding-dong battle.  Can put that experience to good use here and gets in on the same mark despite an impending 5lb rise.

Hee Haw, (1830 York), 9/1:  one of a trio of Midgley runners here and the one most likely to give of his best on course and distance.  Has been steadily finding form and is starting to look very well handicapped.  The booking of Atzeni is eye catching and he can produce him fast and late.

Kaeso, (2000 York), 8/1:  we will finally desert blog favourite Presidential – so expect him to saunter in !!  He could bounce back to form but Kaeso is in great heart and is looking to deliver on the old Ted Rogers theory having gone 3-2 in his last two runs here.
