The Daily Yankee:
NAP OF THE DAY: Shouranour, (1520 Pontefract), 1pt win, 4/1 generally available
No stranger to this blog as he has become very well handicapped. Showed that, albeit frustratingly, by being placed in two recent Ripon runs. That’s an uplift in form at a track where he now has just a one in nine strike rate. This is Pontefract, where he has won two from three. Add in a good draw and all looks set for a return to winning ways.
Lord Clenaghcastle, (1510 Brighton), 6/1: bids for repeat wins in this competitive race off just a 2lb higher mark than last year, and just 2lbs above his mark for a cosy win at Sandown last time. Tons of early pace on here, and he can be covered up and produced to pick up the pieces when the pacesetters fall away.
Multitask, (1610 Brighton), 4/1: was a losing nap for us when last here two runs ago. Has previously won well here and front running tactics were probably overdone that day. Is now 11lbs below a winning mark here from two seasons ago and whilst not wholly reliable he’d be a good thing on a going day.
Tyrsal, (1820 Yarmouth), 9/2: has been knocking on the door lately with two runner up efforts. He was a long way clear of the rest last time when just failing to reel in a gambled on winner. Should enjoy conditions today and some lively opposition helps prop up the price but he should be too good.
