Wednesday Yankee: Crystal tips…

The Daily Yankee:

NAP OF THE DAY:   Crystal Hope, (1540 Salisbury), 1pt win, 3/1 generally available

Another 3yo taking on her elders, Stoute’s filly comes here off the back of a deeply impressive Sandown win followed by a slightly disappointing third stepped up to this level last time.  Whilst better was expected then, the fact that two that beat her have both subsequently won Group 1 races suggests she was hugely unlucky in her choice of Listed race.  She should still be on the improve and surely won’t be running into that level of opposition here.

Ideal Candy, (1600 Beverley), 4/1:  has made all for two wins in last three including this course and distance last time.  As a 3yo she could still be finding more improvement and she is drawn to attack again on a course where it isn’t always easy to make up ground.  Favourite Weather Front is a darling of ours but hold up tactics here can be awkward and the return to turf may not be ideal.

Wrenthorpe, (1700 Beverley), 4/1:  deserved his win last time at Redcar after some consistent efforts all year.  Likes to race prominently and looks well drawn to employ aggressive tactics.  His 7lb claimer is looking well worth the weight concession and he can follow up here.

La Mernancia, (2100 Kempton), 12/1:  one of the few 3yos in this race and they have been mopping up against their elders over this kind of trip of late.  Started her career on the all weather but her two handicap runs have come in turf.  Hasn’t done too badly and can put that experience to use now back on this surface.  An obvious chance to improve.
