Monday Yankee: Get on the Flyer…

The Daily Yankee:

NAP OF THE DAY:  Elysian Flyer, (1535 Thirsk), 1pt win, 5/1 generally available

Three of his four lifetime wins have come with cut in the ground so today’s conditions should be ideal.  He has won here on soft off this rating, and he has two good seconds on soft this season.  He is closely matched with Lydiate Lady on Ripon form, but should improve past her with top man Graham Lee in the saddle.  He was up last time at Beverley and probably knows he needs to make amends after finding trouble that day.

Rux Ruxx, (1650 Leicester), 15/8:  Andrew Balding has his team in flying form at over a 30% strike rate.  This filly contributed with a win two runs ago, and was narrowly beaten last time.  The step back in trip should help, and she should be well ahead of her more exposed rivals.

Storm Ahead, (1705 Thirsk), 8/1:  hasn’t won for two years, but that win came on soft ground.  Was racing off 90 and placing at Ascot before being sold to the Easterby yard last year.  Nothing went right in that first season for them, but his mark has plummeted to 75, he was an ok 4th last time in a ladies race, and back under the stable jockey and with first time blinkers he could be set to strike.

Silent Echo, (1900 Windsor), 9/2:  won twice here earlier in the season and is only 3lbs higher for that last win.  Sixth and eighth in two runs since May not sound too special but that was in fields of 28 and 26 for the Wokingham and the Stewards Cup.  That suggests he is still in top form, and he can enjoy the slight drop in class here.
