The Daily Yankee:
NAP OF THE DAY: Theglasgowwarrior, (1450 Hamilton), 1pt win, 12/1 generally available
This is a very competitive looking race and we are hopeful there will be a strong pace and an emphasis on stamina. Jim Goldie’s 4yo has been prolific from off the pace over 12f, but now tries a lifetime shortest trip, but as the stable showed with Euchan Glen at York, they can win even when playing around with the trip.
Grise Lightning, (1350 Hamilton), 4/1: Richard Fahey’s 3yo filly has more scope to improve than most here. A mark of 78 looks generous after beating a subsequent winner on seasonal debut. Stable jockey Hanagan looks well placed in stall 7 and if there is one ahead of the rest here, it’s this one.
Guardia Svizzera, (1520 Hamilton), 5/1: has steadily found form for Roger Fell after transferring over from Ireland. A first UK encounter with softer ground last time saw a personal best second place. Is well drawn for a prominent run and should go close.
Crazy Tornado, (1655 Hamilton), 4/1: made all to win here two runs ago before failing with that tactic at unsuitable Carlisle. Can employ front running tactics again, which should be very effective in a no whip event where race position will be key.
