Thursday Yankee: Turn up the Qas…

A nice winning nap again yesterday as Royal Brave (advised 7/2) delivered again at his beloved Musselburgh.  We head to Edinburgh again today in search of a nap hat trick…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Qasr, (1550 Musselburgh), 1pt win, 10/3 generally available

This very lightly raced contender put in an eye catching performance when pulling hard and making most over 10f at Ayr.  Only 3lbs higher, he is stepped back to 8f, drawn to attack in stall one, and with pace-setting supremo Joe Fanning on board.  Should make all.

Queen’s Gift (1510 Carlisle), 3/1:  Another lightly raced contender, she has had just the four runs including a pretty solid handicap debut when third at Haydock. Soft ground and a stiffer track could suit a filly likely to need 7f in time, and she has much greater scope than her opponents here.

Blackheath, (1600 Chelmsford), 5/2:  a small race but high in quality.  That said, few of these have all weather form, and a few have little form at this trip.  One who has both is Blackheath who has run well here before and continues in good form.  Luke Morris hasn’t been our luckiest jockey, but he sure knows these all weather tracks well.

Kibaar, (1655 Musselburgh), 11/4:  favourite One Boy made all impressively at Beverley recently, but under his penalty he is higher here than the handicapper would have him. Instead, he could set the race up for the unlucky Kibaar, who could have won his last three but for traffic problems.  If the favourite spreads the field with early pace it should reduce the risk of trouble and help Kibaar go one better.
