Today’s opening game in the Premier League sees Arsenal travel west to Cardiff.
New Arsenal manager Unai Emery obtained his first points of the season last weekend against West Ham, and will be confident of picking up another three against a Cardiff side which has yet to score.
Cardiff, on the other hand, will be desperate to gain three points, and will look at an opposition which still shows defensive frailty.
Cardiff manager Neil Warnock is known for trying to disrupt the opposition by hook or by crook, and in Anthony Taylor the match has a referee who is not afraid to get his cards out. With this in mind, we’ll take a punt on a red card in the game.
The second televised game is the day’s highlight – Watford hosting Tottenham, a London derby featuring two sides who have won all three of their games so far this season.
Spurs come into the game on the back of a tremendous 3-0 win away at Old Trafford, a result which is sure to boost confidence. And thus they arrive as favourite. That said, Watford won’t be anyone’s pushover, particularly at home.
Still, we’ll take Spurs to win and back one of their form players to open the scoring. Lucas Moura scored twice at Old Trafford and the Brazilian has been the inspiration to his team’s sharp start.
Cardiff/Arsenal: Red card in the game, 1 pt, at 9/2, Paddy Power
Watford/Tottenham: Lucas Moura to score first, 1 pt, at 8/1, Boyle Sports
