NAP OF THE DAY: Biotic, (1755 Leicester), 1pt win, 7/1 generally available
Market leaders Makambe and Tahreek represent the 3yos and are hard to oppose. But with Destroyer likely to ensure a strong gallop, this looks set up for a hold up horse and Biotic fits the bill. He needs to improve again after three wins already this Summer, but this will be his first time in the hands of hold-up genius Jamie Spencer, and that could be the key ingredient.
Goodwood Showman, (1915 Kempton), 4/1: ran a blinder first time after a wind operation last time when runner up here after a tender ride. Second time after a wind operation is generally perceived to be the best time to catch an improved performance, in reality he only need repeat his effort to have a winning chance.
Potters Lady Jane, (1925 Leicester), 7/2: Lightly raced for a 6yo, this mare ran a cracker when returning from a break last time under today’s pilot Josephine Gordon. Whilst her record hardly screams consistency, this isn’t the strongest event, and she should be backed whilst showing some form.
Percy’s Word, (1945 Kempton), 7/2: has only had the seven career runs, four awful efforts on the turf, and then all weather form of 112. Benefits from being dropped a few pounds for poor turf efforts and is back on the mark hevdo neatly won off here in July.
